Applications
Precision timing circuits that may produce precise time delays or oscillations include NE555 Single Precision Timers. The timed interval is managed by a single external resistor and capacitor network in the time-delay or monostable mode. Two external resistors and a single external capacitor can be used to independently control the frequency and duty cycle in the a stable mode. In most cases, the threshold and trigger values are equal to 2/3 and 1/3 of VCC, respectively. Using the control voltage terminal, these levels may be changed.
