These components are made up of four separate high-gain, frequency-compensated operational amplifiers that have been engineered particularly to run off of a single supply over a broad variety of voltages. Operation from split supplies is also feasible if VCC is at least 1.5 V more positive than the input common-mode voltage, the difference between the two supplies is 3 V to 36 V (for B and BA versions), 3 V to 26 V (for LM2902 devices), or 3 V to 30 V (for all other devices). The supply voltage's size has no bearing on the low supply-current drain. Applications include DC amplification modules, transducer amplifiers, and any other operational amplifier circuits that were previously difficult to implement in single-supply-voltage systems.
A variety of signal conditioning applications benefit from the usage of the operational amplifiers LMx24 and LM2902. With numerous supply circuits, inputs can be powered before VCC for flexibility.
An operational amplifier's typical use is as an inverting amplifier. This amplifier converts the input voltage from positive to negative to the same magnitude. It also transforms negative voltages into positive voltages in the same way.
