The ADS1230 is a 20-bit accuracy ADC with internal diodes coupled to a low-noise PGA, internal oscillator, third-order delta sigma (ΔΣ) modulator, and fourth-order digital filter. The ADS1230 is a full-featured front-end solution for structure sensor applications such as weigh scales, strain gauges, and pressure sensors.
A precise internal oscillator or an external clock can be used to provide timing. For good 50Hz and 60Hz rejection, data can be delivered at 10SPS, or at 80SPS when faster rates are required. The ADS1230 is simple to configure and requires no programming of registers because all digital control is carried out through dedicated pins. The data are retrieved via a basic two-wire serial interface.
