NE555 Single Precision Timers are precise timing circuits that may oscillate or provide precise time delays. A single external resistor and capacitor network controls the timed interval in the time-delay or monostable mode. With two external resistors and one external capacitor, the frequency and duty cycle may be separately adjusted in the a stable mode. Normally, the threshold and trigger values are equal to two thirds and one third of VCC, respectively. The control voltage terminal can be used to change these levels.The flip-flop is set, and the output becomes high, when the trigger input deviates from the trigger level. The flip-flop is reset and the output is low if both the trigger input and the threshold input are higher than the trigger level. All other inputs can be overridden by the reset (RESET) input, which can also be used to start a fresh time cycle.
